  <dc:description xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">This project relates to the effect of the underwater noise generated during the construction of the Lynn and Inner Dowsing wind farms on marine mammals. A specific Marine Mammal Monitoring Protocol was adopted to ensure no marine mammals were within 500 metres of the pile during the 30 minutes preceding the start of piling. Acoustic mitigation monitoring data was collected for 85 hours and visual mitigation monitoring data was collected for 82 hours. Recommendations are made for the improvement of the protocol and soft start procedures - including a refining of the soft start procedure and the use of acoustic deterrent devices during night time starts.</dc:description>
