<dc:description xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">The North Hoyle Offshore Wind Farm environmental monitoring series, led primarily by National Wind Power Ltd, NWP Offshore Ltd, and the Countryside Council for Wales (CCW), aimed to establish environmental baselines and assess the potential impacts of the wind farm prior to and during its early operation.

The main conclusions indicate that baseline conditions were well-characterised, with no significant deviations detected in benthic, fisheries, or marine mammal communities, nor any immediate issues reported by fishermen or stakeholders. Baseline studies determined that the wind farm area is outside current boundaries of potential marine Special Protection Areas (SPAs), though future SPA delineation for red-throated divers remains uncertain. The monitoring also provided foundational data for ornithological populations, noting the need for methodological improvements in bird flight height and movement detection, and highlighted that benthic and aerial survey methods require further refinement for higher precision. Key recommendations include ongoing, targeted monitoring—especially for bird and fish populations, EMF, noise, and vibration—refinement of survey techniques, continued stakeholder engagement, and the use of improved technology to ensure comprehensive long-term evaluation of potential and emerging environmental impacts.</dc:description>
