  <dc:description xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">Centre for Marine and Coastal Studies Ltd (CMACS) were commissioned by West of Duddon
Sands Ltd (WoDS) to carry out vessel based surveys of the bird populations in the West of
Duddon Sands offshore wind farm area. The report within this series presents results of the surveys in the West of Duddon Sands field in 2012 which represent the first pre-construction (baseline) survey. Some comments on the results are provided; although the focus of the report is on presentation of the results. Detailed data analysis is being undertaken by NIRAS on behalf of WoDS. Ornithological surveys are planned to continue during the operational phase in accordance with the monitoring schedule and as agreed with the relevant statutory authorities. This series also contains the April - September 2012 bird survey data.</dc:description>
