Construction of the LID projects was completed in 2008 and the wind farms have been operational since early 2009, therefore this document updates the existing Archaeological Protocol to focus on the operations and maintenance (O&M) phase. This Archaeological Protocol will remain in place for the lifetime of the wind farms and also covers decommissioning activities. The LID projects are located approximately five kilometres off the coast of Skegness, Lincolnshire, and consist of 27 turbines at Lynn, 27 turbines at Inner Dowsing, with associated inter-array cables and six export cables to shore. The LID FEPA Licences (Licence 31792/10/1; Inner Dowsing Licence 31814/10/2) require a protocol to be submitted to the Licencing Authority that details action to be taken to protect any archaeological remains identified in the Environmental Statements or which may be discovered during the project.
