Working within the framework of the onshore grid connection strategy defined by Centrica and other selection criteria, the preliminary objective of the report contained within this project is to undertake a technical, environmental and commercial desk top assessment of the eleven potential grid connection cable route options in order to identify two preferred offshore and onshore cable routes. After the preliminary assessment of all eleven cable routes, the second objective is to conduct a site visit in order to provide a detailed comparison of the landfall and onshore components of the two preferred options. The final objective of this report is to recommend a preferred offshore and onshore grid connection cable route for each of the Lincs, Docking Shoal and Race Bank offshore wind farm projects. After detailed consideration it was concluded that 'Lincs, Docking Shoal and Race Bank to Walpole via The Wash (Option 5)' is the favoured route for the Lincs, Race Bank and Docking Shoal offshore wind farm sites to connect to the National Grid. 20070522 20060816
