<dc:description xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">HR Wallingford was commissioned by Offshore Wind Power Ltd who is developing a wind farm on two sites approximately 6km offshore from Skegness in the Outer Wash. The Inner Dowsing area is approximately 2km by 5km over which the seabed level varies between about –6m CD and –8m CD. The Lynn area is further south and varies in depth between –6m CD and –12m CD. This report presents detailed predictions of metocean data for the site to support detailed design of the proposed turbine structures.
Air and sea temperature data were reviewed from a range of different sources. Monthly air temperature statistics from 22 years of measurements on Spurn Point were obtained from the UK Admiralty Pilot giving maximum and minimum recorded temperatures of 27°C and -6°C
respectively. Historical sea temperature data were obtained from CEFAS, BODC and the Admiralty Pilot. Mean summer and winter sea surface temperatures were given as approximately 15°C and 5°C.</dc:description>
