2003-2004, Environmentally Sustainable Systems Ltd, Kentish Flats Offshore Wind Farm, Bird Monitoring series https://portal.medin.org.uk/portal/start.php?tpc=015_78ad7b57-7632-426b-84da-84a1b059b960 Between December 2003 and November 2004, defined as Year 3 of this study, a total of seventeen boat surveys of birds and marine mammals were carried out around the Kentish Flats Wind Farm site. Approximately one third of these covered the wind farm site, the buffer and the control area, whilst the remainder covered only the wind farm site and the buffer. Additionally three aerial surveys were carried out in Year 3 over a wider area extending beyond the wind farm site, and another aerial survey was undertaken on 5 December 2004. The February survey took place over three days, though all of the wind farm, buffer zone and control areas were covered on 15 February 2004. Previously, between October 2001 and November 2003 (Years 1 and 2) forty boat surveys of birds and marine mammals had been carried out around the Kentish Flats Wind farm site. Over these earlier periods a total of five aerial surveys were carried out over a wider area extending beyond the wind farm site. This Monitoring report in this series analyses the results of the 12 months of boat data collected from December 2003 to November 2004 for the Kentish Flats wind farm project, and aerial data collected over that period at the wind farm site and the surrounding area. 20050428
