  <dc:description xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">The objectives of this study were: To raise awareness of the marine environment through a programme of outreach work in schools across South West England, designed to fit in with the national curriculum; To raise wide awareness of the integrated role of science, industry and management in society\'s use of marine resources; To disseminate information on the marine environment in a balanced manner relative to the sustainable use and conservation of natural resources; To build partnerships with other individuals, organisations and other outreach programmes to ensure the continuation of marine education and outreach in future years; and To collect feedback from the contacts and events, learning from the experience for future public awareness projects.</dc:description>
