<dc:description xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">The series of ecological assessments near Cleve Hill, Kent, were conducted by RPS Planning Transport & Environment on behalf of London Array Limited in August and September 2004. The studies aimed to evaluate the area's ecological significance in the context of an offshore wind farm project and included desk-based research, literature reviews, site walkovers, and extended Phase 1 Habitat Survey.

Mapping and targeted surveys for invertebrates, bats, birds, and amphibians were undertaken, supported by records from local ecological groups. The results highlight internationally important habitats within the Swale SPA and Ramsar Site, supporting priority bird populations, eelgrass beds, reedbeds, rare flora, and Red Data Book species.

The studies recommend further detailed surveys for great-crested newts and aquatic invertebrates, avoidance of sensitive areas during development, enhancement of bat roosting sites, and the maintenance and restoration of critical habitats, emphasizing the need for ongoing ecological consideration in planning and development activities.</dc:description>
