  <dc:description xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">This study assessed the scope of the existing sustainable development strategy (SDS) developed by the British Marine Aggregate Producers Association (BMAPA). Gaps in the strategy are identified, particularly in relation to existing and developing legislation, and recommendations made for further core values, indicators and targets. The study improves on the existing framework of indicators, incorporating the requirements of European Directives (Habitats, Birds and Water Framework Directives), Sustainable Development strategies and predictions on future requirements under Marine Spatial Planning and MSFD.</dc:description>
