<dc:description xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">The ES is submitted as part of the consent application for the Project, as required under European, UK and Scottish legislation. The EIA is designed by working closely with the Regulator, Marine Scotland and their advisor, Scottish Natural Heritage (SNH) to ensure it will provide the information needed for an informed consenting decision to be made.

The EIA for the Project began in 2009, with collation of available information to identify the likely impacts and data gaps, to define which specific surveys and other studies would be required to inform the EIA. A request for a Scoping Opinion was submitted to Marine Scotland in 2010 and circulated with key stakeholders to gain early feedback on the approach to EIA. In addition, consultation has been ongoing with Marine Scotland and SNH to discuss the progress of the EIA and supporting studies, ensuring that it meets their requirements.</dc:description>
