  <dc:description xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">In order to monitor the abundance and composition of fish and epibenthic species within the area, otter and beam and bass trawl surveys were undertaken within and adjacent to the proposed Kentish Flats Offshore Wind Farm Extension (KFE). The results from the pre-construction surveys will be compared to those undertaken when the KFE is operational.

The sampling sites have been categorised into &#x201C;control&#x201D; and &#x201C;wind farm&#x201D; in agreement with the Marine Management Organisation (MMO). Due to the small area of the extension, the &#x201C;wind farm&#x201D; sampling locations cover the existing Kentish Flats wind farm, the proposed KFE zone and the export cable route as well as their immediate surroundings.</dc:description>
