  <dc:description xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">A ground investigation has been carried out by Fugro Alluvial Offshore Limited (FAOL) on the instructions of DONG Energy Power (UK) Limited (DONG) for the development of the Walney Extension offshore windfarm site in the Irish Sea. The site is located between approximately 21 km to 45 km west of the Isle of Walney and the west coast of Cumbria in the Irish Sea. The Walney Extension windfarm site is adjacent to the Walney Phase 1 and Phase 2 windfarm sites to the north and the north-east. The ground investigation was carried out from 13 October 2012 to the 12 January 2013 on the geotechnical drill ship Fugro Commander and the jack-up barge the Excalibur.</dc:description>
