<dc:description xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">Sea Generation (Kyle Rhea) Ltd, a development company set up by Marine
Current Turbines (MCT), is proposing to develop a tidal stream array at a site
between the Isle of Skye and the west coast of Scotland called Kyle Rhea.
Sea Generation (Kyle Rhea) Ltd commissioned Marico Marine (Marine and
Risk Consultants Ltd) to undertake a feasibility study to identify whether
there are critical navigation issues associated with the development.
Analysis of vessel traffic survey data collected in 2010 by Marico Marine was
carried out to determine the magnitude and characteristics of vessel
transiting Kyle Rhea. The investigation included the analysis of vessel
tracks, the comparison of vessel transits relative to tidal state, swept path
analysis, concurrent vessel analysis, and the computation of channel width
requirements utilising the internationally adopted PIANC methodology.</dc:description>
