<dc:description xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">POSEIDON aims to create a revised system which describes environmental risk across England and Wales, that can be applied to offshore wind (and other marine sectors) planning. It is the intention of the project that this will become integrated with marine plans and help offshore wind decisions to comprehensively factor in risks to consent and risks to the environment.

This series contains benthic surveys undertaken by several organisations contracted by Cefas to contribute to Natural England’s POSEIDON project. The project was split into five Lots based on geographic regions of water around Great Britain. For each Lot several survey methods were utilised to create an environmental baseline data and updated spatial models for key species (receptors), assemblages, and a suite of ecological metrics (diversity, functional traits).</dc:description>
