<dc:description xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">The work covered by this report was undertaken for Scira Offshore Technology Limited working on behalf of StatoilHydro ASA. The purpose of this report was to provide information on the ground conditions beneath the site in order to assess the suitability for development of a proposed substation adjacent to the existing electricity substation. The new substation is at the termination of the new cable route from the proposed offshore windfarm (Sheringham Shoal), approximately 21km of which is onshore and located between Weybourne on the north Norfolk Coast, and Salle.

The work covered by this report was undertaken in accordance with instructions received from the client (Scira Ltd.), and included soil sampling from cable percussive and window sampler boreholes to provide information on the underlying ground conditions.

The site location is shown on drawing DR/GN12582/030/LEB and an annotated site plan has been included in the appendix (drawing DR/GN12582/029/YN). By examination of the Ordnance Survey map of the area the site could be identified by National Grid Reference 612733, 323998 with an elevation of around 40 metres above Ordnance Datum (maOD).</dc:description>
