<dc:description xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">Gardline Geosciences has been commissioned by StatoilHydro to undertake a geotechnical drilling survey within the site of hte proposed Sheringham Shoal Offshore Wind Farm. The wind farm site is located approximately 20km north of the Norfolk coast, offshore UK, in approximately 20m water depth.
The objective of the survey was to gather high quality samples and in-situ CPTUand PS logging data to assist StatoilHydro in their design of suitable foundations for the wing turbine generators. Onshore labratory testing was undertaken by NGI.
The field investergation was undertaken between 21st April and 21st Mai 2008 from the UR 101 barge.
Seven locations were investigated. Eight boreholes were advanced from mudline by API and Geobar rotary drilling. Push samples and CPT data were acquired by WISON VdB from mud line until the chalk was encountered. Push sampling was then continued into the chalk until end of borehole.
This report presents the geotechnical data from the soil investergation as well as interpretation of all data resulting in recommended soil parameters for design . PART A presents the geotechnical parameters for design, PART B the geotechnical data from the tests undertaken and PART C details the field operations. Data from investigations undertaken in 2005 and 2006 have been included in the interpretation presented in this report.</dc:description>
