Project Two comprises offshore generating stations with a capacity of more than 100 MW and therefore is a Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project (NSIP), as defined by Section 15(3) of the Planning Act 2008 (the 2008 Act). As such, there is a requirement to submit an application for development consent to the Planning Inspectorate (PINS). An Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) has been undertaken for the project in accordance with the Infrastructure Planning (Environmental Impact Assessment) Regulations 2009 (EIA Regulations). This Draft Environmental Statement constitutes the Preliminary Environmental Information for Project Two and sets out the findings of the EIA to date to support pre-application consultation activities required under the 2008 Act. The EIA will be finalised following completion of pre-application consultation and the Final Environmental Statement will accompany the application to PINS for development consent.
