<dc:description xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">ABP Marine Environmental Research (ABPmer) has been commissioned by Beatrice Offshore Windfarm LTd (BOWL) and Moray Offshore Renewables Ltd (MORL) to produce a combined bathymetry data set for use by both these offshore wind farm developers, who have commercial interests in adjacent sites in the outer Moray Firth (Scotland). At present, both BOWL and MORL are developing Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) for these developments.

For the purposes of consistency in the EIA, a joint or coordinated approach between BOWL and MORL has been sought in the component topic areas. Bathymetry is an important data input to this type of offshore EIA and also to other aspects of engineering and infrastructure design. To these ends, the bathymetry data must necessarily include a variety of spatial scales and resolutions and a high level of confidence is required in the values used. BOWL and MORL wish to combine a number of purchased and publicly available bathymetry data sets to achieve a continuous and consistent data source for use across the rwo project areas and extending beyond these areas to include the whole of the Moray Firth and the northern North Sea.

ABPmer, has created a single combined bathymetry data set which comprises three complimentary grids of increasing extent but decreasing resolution.</dc:description>
