<dc:description xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">Walpole electricity sub-station is located approximately 1.5km west of the village of Walpole St Peter,
Norfolk. The evaluation area occupies parts of three flat fields situated between the sub-station and a
minor road. At the time of survey one field was under stubble, the second was set aside and the third
under a young crop. Aims of Survey: Detailed gradiometer survey was carried out within the whole evaluation area with the aim of establishing the limits of the possible salterns, identifying any extant features relating to salt production and locating any other anomalies of possible archaeological interest. The work forms part of a wider evaluation undertaken by Northern Archaeological Associates (NAA), on behalf of the National Grid, prior to a proposed expansion of the electricity substation. This series contains the survey report and a gazetteer of identified sites from the survey.</dc:description>
