<dc:description xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">This project examines the current commercial fishing baseline and impact assessment of Westermost Rough offshore wind farm and its export cable. This desk based study was undertaken by Brown and May Marine Ltd using a combination of data sources given that there is no recognised model for establishing commercial fisheries baselines within small, discrete sea areas such as wind farm sites. The data sources used in the study were Defra – Fisheries Statistics Unit, Defra – Marine Fisheries Agency (MFA), North Eastern Sea Fisheries Committee (NESFC), International Council for the Exploration of the Sea (ICES) and EU Fisheries Legislation. In addition to this a number of consultation meeting were held with stakeholders likely to be impacted by the development including the Flamborough and Bridlington Fishermen’s Society, Hornsea fishermen, National Federation of Fishermen’s Organisations, Officers of NESFC and Defra – MFA, Whitehall. The report assesses the impacts at the various stages of the development for construction/decommissioning phases in terms of the site specific, cumulative and in-combination effects. In response to the impacts identified in the report mitigation measures are also discussed.</dc:description>
