<dc:description xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">N-Sea Survey B.V. (hereinafter referred to as N-Sea) was awarded the contract by DONG Energy Walney Extension (UK) Ltd. to undertake geotechnical sampling investigations, consisting of CPTs (cone penetration tests) and vibrocores at specified locations. Sixty six (66) locations were identified by DONG: 17 within the WOW03 site and 49 along the proposed export cable route. Geotechnical services were provided by specialist subcontractor Marine Sampling Holland (MSH) who provided the Manta CPT, hydraulic vibrocore equipment and four operators.

Fieldwork operations were undertaken from the 32 m multicat, M.P.R. 3, which was chartered from Marine Projects Rotterdam. A total of 79 CPTs (including 13 repeats) and 76 vibrocores (incl. 10 repeats) were completed between 20 September and 5 October 2013. The approximate water depths ranged from -3 m LAT near shore to +48 m LAT at the WOW03 site. Various seabed features, including mega ripples and sand waves, were present on the seabed.</dc:description>
