<dc:description xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">In June 2015, EDF Energy, Renewables (EDF) contracted EGS International Ltd (EGSi) to undertake a pre-construction geophysical, bathymetric and Annex I habitat survey within the Blyth Offshore Demonstrator Site. The objective of the geophysical survey was: “to act as reconnaissance survey to determine preferred areas for the planned export cable, to re-survey the 2010 and 2011 survey areas in order to determine changes in sediment thickness/laying and to further confirm depth to rockhead in order to assist foundation design and cable routing”. Geophysical operations were undertaken using a high-frequency multibeam system (MBES), side-scan sonar (SSS) system, two different sub-bottom profilers (SBP), one magnetometer (MAG) and an Ultra Short Baseline (USBL) system to be used in conjunction with the SSS. A modified Day grab and a MOD 4 shallow camera system were used for the Annex 1 survey.</dc:description>
