<dc:description xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">Vattenfall Wind Power Limited (Vattenfall) is developing the Thanet Offshore Windfarm off the coast of Kent in the southern North Sea. Vattenfall requested Fugro EMU Limited (FEMU) to perform geophysical, benthic and geotechnical site investigations to provide soils information to assist in expansion of the Thanet Windfarm site. Fugro EMU Limited subcontracted Fugro Engineers B.V to perform the geotechnical site investigation and Fugro Engineers B.V (FEBV) subcontracted Fugro GeoConsulting Limited (FGCLTD) to provide onshore laboratory and reporting services. The fieldwork was performed from the geotechnical drilling vessel MV Bucentaur. Seabed cone penetration test (CPT) and vibrocore sampling (VC) operations were performed from the MV Bucentaur from 12 September to 16 September 2016. Plate 1.1 presents a vicinity map showing the general location of the investigated site and Plate 1.2 presents a detailed location plan showing the positions of the boreholes and in situ tests.</dc:description>
