<dc:description xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">National Renewable Energy Centre (NaREC) has commissioned Natural Power Consultants
Limited to undertake assessments of meteorological/oceanographic (metocean) and coastal
processes relating to the development of the Blyth Offshore Wind Farm (OWF) Demonstration
Project off the coast of Northumberland.
The development has the potential to affect both the metocean and coastal processes regimes in
and around the development area. Effects may range from short to long term, and the
assessment will consider timescales up to 25 years. The developer requires an understanding of
the magnitude and significance of these effects, with a view to implementing, where necessary,
appropriate mitigation measures in order to minimise potential impacts and obtain consent to
undertake the development.</dc:description>
