<dc:description xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">This project addresses part of the FEPA consent conditions at Gunfleet Sands. It includes two main elements of work: an improved assessment of sediment grain size and an improved assessment and quantification of sediment transport. A refined description of sediment gradings data has been established at strategically selected site across the proposed wind farm site, at adjacent sites across Gunfleet Sands and at sites along the Clacton Frontage. The analysis of sediment gradings now includes a more rigours description of grain size variation, with consideration of modal classes. Potential changes in sediment mobility at these sites have been assessed for both tidal and wave regimes. For the tidal regime, small effects are determined locally on Gunfleet Sands, but not along the foreshore. Based on this assessment, there is unlikely to be any long-term changes in the sediment transport regime either at any of the sites considered. There will however be significant short-term changes resulting from local scour around each of the turbine support structures which has not been addressed by this study.</dc:description>
