The primary aim of the project is to collate and present basic information on the socio-economic background of the region, and identify the likely key areas for detailed consideration within individual development Environmental Impact Assessments. The following aspects have been examined in this study: -Employment -Tourism and Leisure -Military Activities -Offshore Oil and Gas -Civil Aviation -Aggregate Extraction -Offshore Waste Disposal -Land Transport -Communication and Television -Archaeology Treatment of commercial fishing, navigation and other effects on people such as noise and visual impact have been dealt with in separate studies and are not considered in this report. Within this report each socio-economic aspect has been dealt with separately but in a similar manner, having the following structure: -A description of the aspect -Identification and discussion of possible impacts associated with offshore wind farms -Identification of possible mitigation options.</dc:description>
