<dc:description xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">This project details the geophysical and environmental investigation surveys carried out at the site of the Gunfleet Sands Offshore Wind Farm. The Gunfleet Sands Offshore wind farm is located in the Outer Thames Estuary. Titan Environmental Surveys Ltd were appointed by Enron Wind Gunfleet Ltd to carry out the surveys. The objectives of the geophysical investigation were to provide accurate seabed and sub-seabed information to assist the engineering design and installation of up to 30 wind turbines located within the survey area. In addition, a 500m wide corridor for the planned power cables associated with the wind farm development was surveyed between a possible landfall at Holland-on-Sea and the survey area. It is concluded that, in spite of the spells of bad weather, the survey programme and objectives were completed successfully. Statistically, for surveys in the September/October period, one should anticipate at least 30% time lost to weather and this in fact proved to be the case. It is difficult to see any way that Titan could have performed the work more quickly.</dc:description>
