<dc:description xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">This collaborative marine sampling survey took place in June 2004 in the areas of the Goban Spur, Western Irish Margin, Barra Fan and Rosemary Bank onboard the R/V Marion Dufresne. The British Geological Survey (BGS) participation centred around the collection of one long sediment core in the Barra Fan, Rockall Trough. The objective was to obtain a high resolution sedimentary record for the comparison of at least 4 major glacial cycles extending possibly into the early Pleistocene. Equipment used: CALYPSO Giant Piston Core - one 37.7m core collected. Technical details of the survey are contained in BGS Report IR/04/126 (http://nora.nerc.ac.uk/id/eprint/509377/). Publication with core details see NORA http://nora.nerc.ac.uk/9636/.</dc:description>
