  <dc:description xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">This British Geological Survey (BGS) geophysical and sampling survey was carried out as part of the Continetal Shelf Unit II programe in the Sea of the Hebrides and the Minches from late August to Mid October 1970 on board the RV Vickers Venturer in conjunction with BGS1970/9 survey. A secondary objective as to assess the feasibility of operating sampling and geophysics on one ship. Seabed samples were collected with Shipek Grab, gravity corer, vibrocorer and rockdrill. Sea floor data were collected using echosounder and transit sonar. Subsurface seismic data were gathered using Sparker. Technical detail contained in BGS Marine Geophysics report 27.</dc:description>
