    "name": "Modelled and observed fish feeding traits for the North Atlantic and Arctic Oceans (1836-2020) and population estimates of fish with different feeding traits from Northeast Atlantic scientific trawl surveys (1997-2020)",
    "description": "The data we provide here have been assembled to categorise fish into feeding \r\nguilds and determine change in populations of fish with different feeding \r\ntraits relevant to food web status assessment advocated by OSPAR.\r\n\r\nWe provide five datasets:\r\n\r\nThe first is a csv file titled \u2018stomach data observations\u2019 contains \r\nobservations from fish stomach contents of individual prey weight, prey \r\nfunctional group (i.e., zooplankton, benthos, fish, nekton and other), \r\npredator taxonomy, predator size, and the region and year the samples were \r\ncollected (Table 1; see Column_headers_readme.txt).\r\n\r\nThe second is a csv file titled \u2018modelled stomach data\u2019 provides predictions \r\nfrom a linear mixed effects model of individual prey weight based on those \r\nstomach contents observations, alongside modelled estimates of prey counts and \r\nbiomass which enable the full collation of stomach contents information to be \r\nused in our feeding guild classification (Table 2; feeding guilds are \r\npredatory categories assigned using cluster analysis on stomach content data; \r\nsee Thompson et al., 2023).\r\n\r\nThe third dataset is a shapefile titled \u2018feeding guild responses in survey \r\ndata\u2019 and provides haul-level estimates of feeding guild species richness, \r\nnumbers of fish and their biomass based on scientific trawl surveys from the \r\nNortheast Atlantic (Tables 3-4).\r\n\r\nThe fourth is a shapefile titled \u2018temporal changes in feeding guilds\u2019 which \r\ncontains correlation coefficients and *p* values following Kendall\u2019s t \r\ntrend analysis between mean haul-level values of feeding guild biomass and \r\nspecies richness for each assessment strata and year. Kendall\u2019s t scores of \u20131 \r\nto +1 represent a 100% probability of a decreasing or increasing trend, \r\nrespectively (Table 5).\r\n\r\nThe fifth dataset which provides the data to categorise fish taxa and body \r\nmass classes into feeding guilds along with the number of stomach samples, \r\npredator-prey mass ratios, average individual prey mass, average predator size \r\nin cm, the % of different prey functional groups, axes scores from non-metric \r\nmultidimensional scaling analysis and the hierarchy of feeding guilds from \r\ncluster analysis.",
