    "description": "Hydrodynamic models were constructed for four mollusc shellfish production \r\nsites which represented a range of bathymetry and climatic conditions: \r\nDungarven Bay (Republic of Ireland), Bay of Brest (France), Ria de Vigo \r\n(Spain) and the Ebro Delta (Spain). The modelling software used for each of \r\nthese studies is Telemac (Hervouet, 2007). \r\n\r\nTo investigate the spread of diseases within the marine environment, passive \r\ntracers (without decay terms) were released within each model domain from \r\nknown aquaculture sites. The environmental conditions chosen for the \r\nsimulation were typical of the summer months in each area, which are the \r\nconditions permissive for the pathogens of interest (e.g. oyster herpesvirus).\r\n\r\nFor each study site, model results then provide the concentration of tracer \r\nover time as an indication of pathogen concentration, alongside other water \r\ncolumn properties.",
