    "description": "A sample of 28 crabs was returned to the laboratory at the end of Fisheries \r\nScience Partnership work carried out at Bridlington with the aim of \r\ninvestigating the feasibility of a study on reproductive cycle.\r\n\r\nThe fishing vessels *Hollie J *and *Magdalene Ann *were chartered in \r\nJune 2006 to carry out a potting survey for velvet crabs in the area from \r\nFlamborough Head to North of Spurn Point. Target fishing positions were spread \r\nthroughout the survey area, but potential gear conflicts confined most \r\nstations to a band 6 to 12 miles off the coast. The survey took place in June \r\nwhen catch rates of velvet swimming crabs were beginning to increase after a \r\ndelayed start to the season.",
