    "description": "This survey was undertaken by Cefas as part of the Western English Channel \r\nGroundfish Survey using Charter Vessels Bogey 1 and Carhelmar, Qtr 4 (FSS: \r\nCARHELMAR);\r\n\r\nThis survey series ran from 1984 to 2013. The aim was to provide fisheries \r\nindependent abundance indices of all age groups of sole and plaice which are \r\nused in assessment working groups to tune the ICES stock assessment and to \r\nestimate recruitment. The survey was undertaken annually. Fifty eight trawl \r\nstations on the main sole grounds in the English waters of the Western English \r\nChannel were fished and sampled. Surveys were carried out on chartered \r\ncommercial fishing vessels with Cefas staff on board.\r\n\r\nSurvey took place between 13/10/2013 and 19/10/2013 on Carhelmar\r\n\r\nEquipment used during this survey :\r\n\r\n\r\n- Beam Trawl 4m steel commercial 3/5 link mat flip up 75mm CE 40mm liner \r\n PORT\r\n- Beam Trawl 4m steel commercial 3/5 link mat flip up 75mm CE 40mm liner \r\n STAR\r\n\r\nSurvey operations were undertaken on 58 stations\r\n\r\n113 different species were caught on this survey",
