    "name": "Seahorse species predicted habitat distributions and associated environmental data layers covering the shelf seas surrounding the UK",
    "description": "This dataset contains predicted seahorse habitat distributions for two species \r\n(*Hippocampus hippocampus *and *H. guttulatus*) and the genus combined \r\n(Hippocampus hippocampus MAXENT.asc, Hippocampus guttulatus MAXENT.asc and \r\nHippocampus sp. MAXENT.asc, respectively). Rasters of the raw predicted \r\nhabitat suitability outputs from the maximum entropy (MAXENT, Phillips et al. \r\n2006) species distribution model algorithm are provided.\r\n\r\nAdditionally, the environmental data layers used for modelling the species \r\ndistributions, including distance to seagrass habitat (degrees) (Distance From \r\nSeagrass.tif), distance to the coastline (DistCo.tif) bathymetry (m) \r\n(Bathy.tif), minimum winter and maximum summer SST (oC) (Kriging SST Winter \r\nMin.tif and Kriging SST Summer Max.tif, respectively) and chlorophyll a \r\nconcentration (mg m-3) (Kriging Chla Winter Smooth.tif and Kriging Chla \r\nSummer Smooth.tif, respectively).\r\n\r\nAll raster layers are provided in the WGS84 (EPSG::4326) spatial reference \r\nsystem. All raster layers are at a gridded resolution of 0.0042 x 0.0042 \r\ndegrees. All layers cover the shelf seas surrounding the UK, including the \r\nEnglish Channel, Celtic Seas, North Sea, and extend into shallow coastal and \r\nestuarine habitats. Raster layers of predicted habitat suitability are \r\nprovided in ASCI format, whilst environmental predictor layers are provided in \r\nTIFF format.\r\n\r\nThis work was prioritised by Natural England\u2019s Seahorse Working Group and was \r\nfunded by Natural England. This work was conducted in collaboration with The \r\nSeahorse Trust who provided the seahorse occurrence data. The information \r\nprovided will support marine spatial planning to reduce the broader impact of \r\nanthropogenic activities and enable better decision-making to protect these \r\nsensitive species and their habitats.",
