    "description": "This survey was undertaken by Cefas as part of the North Sea Groundfish \r\nSurvey, Qtr 3 (FSS: IBTS3E; NSGFS);\r\n\r\n75 core trawl stations are completed annually, to provide distribution and \r\nstock composition estimates for fish species. Station, catch, length (all \r\nspecies) and biological data (selected species) are collected using research \r\nvessels and GOV trawls. Benthic catches are also recorded. These annual \r\nsurveys (ongoing) are carried out in support of EU data regulations and as \r\npart of the International Bottom Trawl survey. Additional aims include \r\ncollection of water temperature, salinity and litter data.\r\n\r\nSurvey took place between 07/08/1996 and 09/09/1996 on Cirolana\r\n\r\nEquipment used during this survey :\r\n\r\n\r\n- Benthic Sampling Gear Jennings 2m Beam Trawl Standard spec.\r\n- Bottle Casts Niskin bottles Caesium sampling from 2 bottle cast\r\n- Bottle Casts Niskin bottles IBTS standard cast\r\n- Otter Trawl GOV Long Wing 36/47 Standard IYFS Spec.\r\n- Pumped Samples Deck Hose Caesium sampling\r\n\r\nSurvey operations were undertaken on 262 stations\r\n\r\n146 different species were caught on this survey",
