These sites are: Fenham Flats; Budle Bay; Beadnell Bay; and Embleton Bay. Four rocky shore transects were established on the rocks, one at each of the northern and southern ends of Embleton and Beadnell Bays. Six transects were established on the sand within those bays and a further five in each of Budle Bay and Fenham Flats (twenty in all). All transects were profiled and the biotopes described.
