    "description": "Records of Fucus distichus from a study into its distribution and ecology in Caithness, Scotland and West Ireland.\r\n \r\n This study was the second part of 'Studies in the genus Fucus' and discusses the ecology and distribution of the Fucus distichus subspecies anceps and edentatus; anceps being a small form confined to certain very exposed coasts in the north and west of Scotland and Ireland, where it reaches the southern limit of its geographical range; edentatus being a large, sheltered-water form, found in the harbours of Lerwick and Scalloway (Shetland Isles) and North Haven (Fair Isle), which mark its southern limits on the British side of the North Sea. Records collated by MarLIN as part of the Defra contract MB0102.",
