    "description": "The potential impact of the development of offshore wind farms (OWFs) upon seabird\r\npopulations is a key issue within the current debate on sustainable energy provision. Terns,\r\n(Sterna spp. and Sternula albifrons), especially when on their breeding grounds, have emerged\r\nas sensitive receptors in many consented and planned OWF projects. To date, information on\r\nthe interaction of terns with OWFs has remained scant due to a lack of understanding of the\r\nforaging ecology of terns especially at specific sites and the inability of standard assessment\r\ntools to define the relative use of specific areas by foraging terns.\r\nThe current project aimed to advance the use of a series of methodological and assessment\r\ntools, some of which were initially developed in the Greater Wash SEA area (funded by\r\nCentrica/AMEC) with others developed specifically in this project. In essence, this involved a\r\nmove towards an individual-based approach.",
