Effects may range from short to long term, and the assessment will consider timescales up to 25 years. The developer requires an understanding of the magnitude and significance of these effects, with a view to implementing, where necessary, appropriate mitigation measures in order to minimise potential impacts and obtain consent to undertake the development.",
