    "description": "Wessex Archaeology was commissioned by AMEC Wind Energy and Renewable Energy\r\nSystems Limited, on behalf of Centrica Renewable Energy Limited to undertake an\r\narchaeological assessment of the potential impact upon archaeological remains from the\r\nproposed cable route for three offshore wind farms; Lincs, Docking Shoal and Race Bank, the\r\nimpact of which is discussed in Wessex Archaeology\u2019s Lincs Offshore Wind Farm\r\nArchaeological Assessment, Docking Shoal and Race Bank Offshore Wind Farms\r\nArchaeological Desk-based Assessment and Docking Shoal Offshore Wind Farm\r\nArchaeological Assessment.\r\nTo provide archaeological context for the DBA a broad Cable Route Study Area was created,\r\ncovering the eastern half of the Wash and forming a rough rectangle of approximately 48 by\r\n20 kilometres. Searches for known archaeological material were conducted within the Cable\r\nRoute Study Area and also the Docking Shoal and Race Bank Study Areas to the north.\r\nInformation was sought from a wide range of local and national bodies, including the Historic\r\nEnvironment Record maintained by Norfolk County Council, the National Monuments\r\nRecord and the UK Hydrographic Office. The resultant data were then filtered to focus only\r\non those sites that lie within the Wash Cable Route Corridor and a 500m buffer zone placed\r\naround it by Wessex Archaeology. The remaining data were used to inform a wider\r\nassessment of archaeological potential of the area. Archaeological interpretation and\r\nassessment of geophysical data (multibeam bathymetry, sidescan sonar, magnetic and single\r\nbeam shallow seismic data) was undertaken by Wessex Archaeology and is included in this\r\nreport.",
