    "description": "The Orkney Research Centre for Archaeology (ORCA) was commissioned by\r\nXodus Group and MeyGen Ltd to assess the potential impacts of the proposed\r\nmarine renewable energy development in the Inner Sound, Caithness, between the\r\nisland of Stroma and the mainland parish of Canisbay upon marine historic\r\nenvironment assets.\r\n\r\nThis assessment includes:\r\n\u2022 A review of current legislation and guidance concerning the marine heritage;\r\n\u2022 A review of existing data sources (DBA \u2013 desk based assessment) to identify\r\nknown submerged sites in the area and the potential for unidentified\r\nsubmerged sites and landscapes;\r\n\u2022 A review and interpretation of remote sensing survey data to check for any\r\nsites identified by the DBA and to identify any previously unknown cultural\r\nheritage remains that show in the survey data;\r\n\u2022 An assessment of the importance of any identified sites and landscapes;\r\n\u2022 Identification and assessment of the significance of any potential impacts\r\n(including direct, indirect, cumulative and residual) of the proposed\r\ndevelopment on the above, and\r\n\u2022 Recommend mitigation strategies (for guidance purposes) to avoid or reduce\r\nimpacts on any identified sites or palaeo-landscapes to a level where there\r\nare none or they are not significant.",
