    "description": "Aquamarine Power Limited is a marine energy company that are currently developing a\r\nhydro-electric wave energy converter (WEC) called Oyster.\r\n\r\nThe Oyster is located in shallow water close to the shore. The WEC consists of a\r\nbottom-hinged, surface-piercing flap which oscillates due to wave action. Double acting\r\npistons on each side of the WEC pump water through a high-pressure pipeline to a\r\nhydro-electric plant on the shore. The high-pressure water drives a Pelton wheel turbine\r\nconnected to an electrical generator. The flow from the Pelton wheel discharges to a\r\nheader tank and returns to the WEC via a low pressure return pipeline.\r\n\r\nRSK Environment Limited (RSK) were commissioned by Brough Head Wave Farm\r\nLimited to undertake a coastal geomorphology walkover survey of the site area on the\r\nwest coast of Mainland Orkney. This report documents the observations made during\r\nthe walkover survey as part of a wider assessment to investigate whether the presence\r\nof the Oyster WEC array is likely to have an impact on the natural erosion and sediment\r\ntransport processes in the vicinity of the development area.",
