    "description": "Metoc prepared this report for StatoilHydro to assist with development of the Sheringham\r\nShoal Offshore Wind Farm, in the southern North Sea off the North Norfolk coast of the UK.\r\nIt provides metocean criteria for engineering design and installation planning throughout the\r\nwind farm area, whose boundaries describe a diamond shape near the national 12-mile limit\r\n(see Figure 1.1). The work has been conducted under the terms of StatoilHydro contract No\r\n4501514355.\r\nThis report supersedes Metoc Report 1483 (July 2006, commissioned by Scira Offshore\r\nEnergy and Norsk Hydro) and addresses verification comments received from DnV and\r\nStatoilHydro in March 2008.\r\nThese metocean criteria are to be used in detail design of the wind turbine structures and\r\nother structures to be built on site and also in the installation planning for these structures\r\nand in-field cabling. They do not address the export cable route between that area and the\r\nshore.\r\nFor wind and waves, we have produced a set of criteria that applies universally across the\r\nwind farm area. For current and water level (including wave crest elevation), there is some\r\nspatial variability across the wind farm. Peak current speeds increase by around 10-15%\r\nbetween the northwest and the southeast corners of the wind farm. Similarly, water levels\r\nincrease by up to 5% from the eastern to the western boundary and design wave crest\r\nelevation varies with site depth.\r\nThe metocean criteria may only be used in connection with this project by StatoilHydro, its\r\npartners and subcontractors. This reflects the confidentiality restrictions on NEXTRA source data.",
