    "description": "AECOM was commissioned by The Crown Estate (TCE), in partnership with National Grid Electricity Transmission (NGET), National Grid Electricity System Operator (NGESO) and the Marine Management Organisation (MMO) to consider the spatial context, in particular the constraints and opportunities, which could influence the way in which offshore wind farms could connect to the electricity transmission system along the east coast of England in the future. The study has been commissioned within the context of the current wider policy review being undertaken by the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS) and Office of Gas and Electricity Markets (Ofgem) into how grid connections for offshore wind farms are delivered. The collaborative approach to the study brings together a number of the key organisations that have a strategic interest and role to play in the connection of future offshore wind capacity. At a time when the approach to grid connections is being reviewed with an increased emphasis on coordinated solutions, the spatial context of future offshore wind grid connections is an important consideration which needs to sit alongside economic, social, technology and broader environmental considerations.",
