The Lincs/LID6 array will lie immediately to the east of the existing turbine arrays of Lynn and Inner Dowsing (LID) (Figure 1). The proposed turbines are Siemens SWT-3.6-120\u2019s which have a 120 metre rotor diameter and a hub height of 85.25 metres above mean sea level. And a subset of the UK\u2019s wintering pink-footed geese Anser brachyrhynchus pass through the area in the vicinity of the proposed development during their autumnal migration, en route to wintering sites in Norfolk.\r\n\r\nThe aim of this study is to -\r\n\u2022 Characterise the nature of pink-footed goose flights over and in the vicinity of the proposed Lincs/LID6 turbine array\r\nand \r\n\u2022 To experimentally extend the range of the bird detection radar to cover the entirety of the Lincs/LID6 offshore wind farm while not compromising data collection over the LID arrays.
