    "description": "COWRIE has recently issued guidance on cumulative impact assessment for ornithology, which has\r\nbeen adapted here for use with marine mammal species (including basking shark). This proposes\r\nthe use, at the scoping stage, of \u2018key features\u2019 tables to identify a list of species which may be at\r\nmost risk of cumulative impacts (Prior, A. in King et al 2009). The tables are designed to provide a\r\nrobust and auditable basis for initial discussions with Scottish Natural Heritage (SNH), Joint Nature\r\nConservation Committee (JNCC) and other stakeholders about the potential for significant effects on\r\npriority species. It is important to note that the use of these tables is a novel development and the\r\nprocess will require refinement. The outputs of this study will be used in the assessment phase for individual projects to provide an\r\nagreed, standardised starting point for the cumulative impact assessment.\r\n\r\nThis assessment also includes Basking sharks due to their similar behaviour to marine mammals and wide-ranging nature.",
