It also describes the need for renewable energy development within the UK in the context of international agreements on reduction in the emission of climate change gases and the EU, UK and Scottish targets for contribution of renewables to overall energy and electricity production. This volume presents the main Environmental Statement. The detail of this volume is summarised in a separate Non-Technical Summary. These documents are accompanied by a number of detailed technical documents and appendices referred to in the main text which should be read in conjunction with this Statement.",
