"name": "2005, ABPmer, Assessment of Potential Impact of Round 2 Offshore Wind Farm Developments on Sediment Transport",
"description": "The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) has commissioned ABP Marine Environmental Research Ltd \r\n(ABPmer) to investigate the issue of sediment pathways and large-scale offshore wind farms as part\r\nof a series of supporting technical investigations related tot eh Strategic Environmental \r\nAssessment (SEA) for marine renewable energy. This work builds on the Phase 1 SEA for offshore \r\nwind (BMT Cordah, 2003) which was completed in anticioation of the second round of site leasing\r\n(Round 2) for the three stategic interest areas commonly referred to as; Thames, Greater Wash and\r\nNorth West (Liverpool Bay).\r\nThis report is also a companion to a qualitative review of sand banks, sediment pathways and \r\noffshore wind farms by Kenyon & Cooper, 2004, and extends earlier generic research funded by\r\nDTI, prior to Round 1, on the issue of potential effects of offshore wind developments on coastal \r\nprocesses (Cooper ; Beiboer, 2002).",
