    "description": "Geotechnical Engineering and Marine Surveys Limited (GEMS) were contracted by E.ON\r\n(COMPANY) to perform geotechnical investigations at proposed wind turbine locations in the North Sea,\r\napproximately 8.0km east from the Yorkshire Coast.\r\n\r\nE.ON are planning the development of a wind farm. GEMS investigated soil conditions onsite for the\r\nemplacement of a proposed met mast.\r\n\r\nThe required geotechnical investigation fieldwork consisted of two boreholes, the locations of which were\r\nUXO-5 and UXO-8.\r\n\r\nFieldwork operations were conducted from the vessel MV Investigator which is owned by GEMS\r\nInternational NV and managed by Chapman International Services Ltd. The vessel is provided to GEMS\r\nunder exclusive long term charter.\r\n\r\nFieldwork operations were carried out from the 8th to the 20th of February 2009.\r\n\r\nThe objectives of the specified geotechnical site survey fieldworks were to identify the underlying soils at\r\nthe locations and to allow their geotechnical properties to be determined and enable engineering\r\nanalyses in connection with piled foundations for the proposed met mast.",
